FAQ

Does my motorcycle license get mailed to me by the RMV after taking the Basic Rider Course with Pioneer Valley Rider Training?

Yes, as long as you have an active motorcycle permit (from the RMV) either prior to class or within 90 days following the completion of the class. You do not have to go to the RMV for a road test or pay the related $20.00 fee.

Do I need a motorcycle permit BEFORE I take the Basic Rider Course?

No, you can take the BRC without a permit. However, if you would like to be licensed through the BRC, you do need an active permit to be issued a motorcycle license by the RMV. You have the choice of getting a permit before the BRC to be licensed right away, or within 90 days following the BRC for a motorcycle license to be mailed to you by the RMV.
