What you need to know:

  • Can-Am Ryker’s are provided by Pioneer Valley Rider Training. We provide 2026 Ryker Rally Sport 900s for training. Required riding gear is the student’s responsibility. Please see the FAQ’s page for details.
  • Students must successfully complete an on-line, self-paced, e-Course at home before attending their first riding session which usually takes 4-5 hours (details included in the confirmation letter).
  • 8 hours of on-cycle riding lessons, in person at our private off street training site in Westfield, MA, split into two 4 hour sessions held over 2 consecutive days on a weekend schedule.
  • MA , CT, NH, ME & VT residents who successfully pass both the e-Course and practical riding skill evaluation at the end of the MSF3WBRC course will receive their Three Wheel Motorcycle License without having to take a road test at the RMV (or having to pay the $20.00 related licensing fee in MA. CT has a related DMV licensing fee. M permit is required.
  • Riders are encouraged to bring their own CanAm or Trike for the use in the course if they own one.
  • Receive up to $500.00 credit towards the purchase of your new 3-wheel vehicle when you take the CanAm Learn to Ride Course.

The on-cycle training sessions are designed to teach riders the necessary skills to safely and confidently operate a three-wheel vehicle on the street. The course is taught live in a safe and controlled environment by Rider Coaches who hold certifications from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) and the Massachusetts Rider Education Program (MREP). Riders are encouraged to bring their own three-wheel vehicle if they own one, in order to learn the mechanics of operation on the vehicle they will be riding on a day-to-day basis. If you do not own a three-wheel vehicle a CanAm on road model will be provided for you at no extra charge. Successful completion of the 3Wheel Basic Rider Course allows riders to obtain their Massachusetts or Connecticut Three-Wheel Motorcycle endorsement with no further testing at the RMV. Students from VT, RI, ME, NH gain a certificate of completion when they pass the course successfully that enables them to be licensed in their own state after passing the 3Wheel Course with Pioneer Valley Rider Training. Required riding gear is the student’s responsibility. Students must bring their own DOT approved helmet and the required riding gear to the course. Upon successful completion of the course MA, CT, NH, ME & VT residents who hold an active motorcycle permit will be eligible to receive their Three Wheel Motorcycle License without having to take a Road Test at the RMV/DMV. Prior experience operating  a 2-Wheel motorcycle is helpful, but not necessary.
